On 25th February, 2017 Coordinating Centre’s for Children’s Rare Diseases staff have attended a celebration organized by Children Rare Diseases Association in “ČIOP ČIOP Studija”, Žalgirio st. 135, Vilnius.
This colorful event was dedicated to World Rare Disease Day and Shrove Tuesday. Children and adults with rare diseases and their families have gathered to celebrate.
All guests were treated with pancakes made by “ČIOP ČIOP” team, listened to wonderful music by “Netikėtas duetas” – oboist Justė Gelgotatė and violinist Agnė Doveikaitė-Rubinė, and enjoyed wonderful atmosphere created by “Kaukių akademija” actors and volunteers.
It is already a 10th World Rare Disease Day! More than 90 countries participate in this event by organizing various events that would help spread awareness about rare diseases. This year the event was celebrated in 4 new countries for the first time: Botswana, Nigeria, Senegal and Sudan. The events also took place for the first time in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon.
